"Select" schools realease statement following meeting with LHSAA
Members of the schools who have been designated as "select" released an official statement following their meeting with the LHSAA today.
BATON ROUGE---Members of the schools designated as "select" met with the LHSAA today in hopes of gaining more clarity on how to split up the divisions for the football playoffs and championships.
Following a combined meeting between the two sides each broke into their own and no decision has been made at this point. Select schools have until March 1 to submit their football playoff plans to the LHSAA.
The following was the official statement from LHSAA 'select' schools following today's meeting:
"The representatives from the designated "select schools" that attended the called meeting on Feb. 21 at the LHSAA office believe the articles passed related to splitting playoffs for football violate the LHSAA constitution. In addition, many other points were raised at the meeting that call into question both the substance and speed of the LHSAA proposal to change rules that have served our student athletes well for decades. We strongly urge the Executive Committee to exercise their authority and overturn the recent vote."
