Former LSU Tiger Josh Booty has won MLB Network’s “The Next Knucker,” and will now participate in spring training with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

According to the Associated Press, Booty reported “to camp Friday with a non-roster invitation.”

“The Next Knuckler” is a reality series hosted by former MLB players Tim Wakefield and Kevin Millar, and also featured former LSU Quarterback Ryan Perrilloux.

Booty told Matt Moscona, host of WNXX 104.5’s “After Further Review,” that filming took about a week and a half, and the show completed production three weeks ago.

“All I’ve done is try and stay in shape knowing that I was going to get this opportunity, and keep my mouth shut,” Booty told Moscona.

Booty also said that during this 3-week period he trained with former MLB pitchers Charlie Hough and Tim Wakefield.

“You know to have those two guys there to work with was unbelievable,” Booty said. “I feel like in the last three weeks I’ve progressed a ton compared to where I was at the show.”

Booty played two seasons (1999-2000) as the Quarterback for LSU, and was voted to the first team All-SEC Team.
